On September 6th, the Fondazione Giorgio Cini opened its doors to let the visitors enjoy the last digital installation,“Chameleon”, promoted by the Unite Archive. The event was preceded by a press-only meeting on September 5th, in which T6 participated to present our contribution. The project has been made in collaboration with the collective Universal Everything, the artistic studio based in Sheffield, England.
“Chamaleon” consists of a digital figure walking around the Fondazione Cini and absorbing the surrounding environment. The work is the result of a deep conversation between Unite Archive and Universal Everything, aiming to create an artwork that reflects the atmosphere of the location. It captures the essence of San Giorgio Island, exploiting the digital heritage of the Foundation.
T6 Ecosystems is a proud partner of this project, being the initiator of the collaboration between Ars Electronica and Fondazione Cini. Indeed, on the 8th of September, during the Ars Electronica Festival, Chameleon was projected in the Deep Space 8k.
The Chameleon project is a perfect example in line with the principles of the STARTS framework, to which T6 is also a member. The possibility of presenting Chameleon in the AE Deep Space on 8th September perfectly showcases the opportunities that the use of new technologies offer us for sharing values and knowledge, also preserving the invaluable heritage held within digital archives.
For T6, this collaboration has been a unique opportunity to ensure that the STARTS methodology along with the works, installations and projects produced by adopting this specific framework, become public domain and no longer just the prerogative of a limited circle of professionals active at European level. Our commitment, now and for the upcoming years, is that this kind of installations and artistic projects become increasingly accessible to a wide audience, to inform and make people reflect in an ethical and conscientious way, using innovative tools to stimulate new forms of understanding reality.
