European Climate Change Adaptation conference, 12–14 May 2015 in Copenhagen

Posted on nov 4, 2014

The second European Climate Change Adaptation conference (ECCA), an initiative of the European Commission co-organised by the RAMSES, BASE and TopDad projects will take place in Copenhagen, 12–14 May 2015.

More than 1000 participants from science, policy, practice and business are expected to attend this event. Researchers, policy makers, and climate change impact and adaptation businesses are welcomed to share new research results, novel policy developments, and on-the-ground experiences.

Science and the implementation of adaptation (including cross-overs with mitigation) will be at the core of the programme. We encourage submitters to invest particular effort in creating multiple synergies between science, policy, business and practice.

Therefore, 4 different types of sessions have been designed to combine scientific and practical knowledge, policy making processes and business cases:

1. Policy: sessions on European, national and local adaptation strategies, policy integration and effectiveness
2. Knowledge: sessions presenting and discussing the latest research results
3. Practice: dialogues on costs and benefits, strategies, governance, tools, and implementation
4. Business: sessions focusing on facilitating public private partnerships and identifying business opportunities and solutions
